U-Turn...

I neglected to take photos in Adelaide. I spent most of our time there chilling out by the beach, and then of course there was the wedding that we drove almost 3000 kilometres to attend! My cousin was the groom and I took the groomsmen photos which was really all kinds of fun! Anyway, we've already done a u-turn and have headed back East. We're currently at Lakes Entrance on the South East Victorian coast. It's raining. We've been so lucky this whole trip. Up until two days ago we hadn't experienced any bad weather at all. Meanwhile, back home, it's been dumping buckets!

On leaving Adelaide we scooted across the centre of SA and Victoria, along inland highways, back to Melbourne. We stopped in numerous country towns and spent the night in Ballarat which turned out to be quite a charming place. The scenery was nice but there wasn't much of note along our chosen route, except for the Pink Lake at Dimboola, which was an eerie rose-coloured salt lake, and the Giant Koala - quite possibly the freakiest 'big thing' in Australia!

After our night in Ballarat, we drove straight through Melbourne towards Wilson's Promontory, a National Park that I've been wanting to visit for a long time. It did not disappoint. However, that's when the weather turned and we only fit in half a day at the Promontory before we got drenched. We did do our best to march on through the rain, but it really got the better of us and we were forced to flee the park for shelter. Still, I was totally taken by Wilson's Prom and hope to visit again one day in finer weather! Until then I have a tonne of photos to reflect upon...
